Cash Machines in Dorking
I just thought I would warn everyone that cash machines in and around Dorking are being targeted. If you are withdrawing cash from a cash machine, be very vigilant. If anyone starts trying to talk to you or distract you, try to ignore them.
I heard this news before, but thought nothing of it, but today, after I withdrew my cash, a man asked me for directions. It is amazing how easy it is to get engrossed in conversation whilst at the machine.
Luckily for me, this was not a malicious encounter, but it just made me realise how easy it is.
My advice: be vigilant until you know your card is safely put away. Conmen can try to snatch your card whilst distracting you with money or pieces of paper they convince you that you’ve dropped.
